hudson city school district partnerships

We’re excited to partner with the Hudson City School District to bring liberatory, hands-on, creative programming into schools. Schools and educators are the center of our communities. We believe deeply in your work and in the power of what happens in your classrooms everyday. Partnering with our local school district allows us to meet educators and young people where you’re at, to collaborate with you in the places where you already spend so much of your time.

Are you an educator? Kite’s Nest wants to partner with you in supporting Hudson area youth to thrive as the next generation of community leaders. Our team of experienced educators will work with you to bring rich, dynamic programming to your students. We offer flexible opportunities to collaborate, including:

  • Workshops in your classroom

  • Field trip workshops on site at our garden classroom and greenhouse in Hudson

  • Material that meets the needs of multiple learning styles

  • One-time sessions or continuous sessions throughout a semester or year

Our services are free. All programs respond to state social studies, science, art, and writing standards. We can tailor workshops to meet the needs of your K-12 classroom. Reach out to us at hello@kitesnest.org to learn more about how we might work together. For examples and to get to know our program team - link to classes archives and educator page.

Turn your creative ideas into wearable art while learning the art of screenprinting! —with Sharece Johnson and Nellie Ostow

Join us every Tuesday afternoon for the Roots & Rebels Garden Club! We’ll meet each week at our River City Garden to plant seeds and grow plants, explore the new Kite’s Nest greenhouse, prepare and eat delicious meals, and do arts and crafts inspired by nature. We’ll examine the bugs and microbes in our healthy soil, learn to grow herbs and medicines, and practice making our own soil and compost. We’ll draw and observe what’s happening in our raised beds, create garden art projects, and of course play our favorite games outside!

This program is FREE. If you would like to make a donation to support the program, we suggest $100-$500.
