In the past couple of years, we have received powerful support from neighboring creatives, business owners, and grassroots donors. You helped us plant the seeds of a new model of relational fundraising, built on the creative strengths and relationships of our community. Let’s continue to build resilience by having each other’s backs in exciting ways! Below are some tips and tricks for how to join and support us.   • Host a raffle or an auction for Kite’s Nest

  • Challenge your friends to a match - I’ll match every gift up to $250!

  • Offer an award for donations - I’ll draw a picture for every new monthly donor!

  • Offer a percentage of sales one day or one month

  • Make a donation in honor of someone you love as a holiday gift

HOW TO TALK ABOUT KITE’S NEST

The best way to fundraise is to keep it personal, so try talking about what Kite’s Nest means to you. But below are some of the ways we describe ourselves, to help you out!

  • Kite’s Nest is a center for liberatory education in Hudson, NY. It is our mission to build the collective capacity of young people to bring about personal transformation, social connection, healing, and systemic change.

  • We create youth-centered spaces of radical imagination and creativity, and support youth-led movements for equity and justice that transform the conditions impacting young people's lives. Our programs engage experiential education, the arts, meaningful job training, and civic action as tools for building community power.

  • We support youth to thrive. We create learning environments that center joy and well-being, nurture healing, and foster creativity and agency.

  • We cultivate youth leadership. We support youth to develop the skills, imagination, and collective power to transform the challenges facing our communities.

  • We build community power. We bring people of all ages together to dream, practice, and co-create liberatory solutions in our community.
