Survival skills as sovereignty!

This spring, daytime students will turn to nature as a guide, drawing powerful lessons about collective liberation.

As we deepen our understanding of and connection to the natural world through hands-on survival skills, we will ground our learning in the wisdom and legacy of Black naturalists, scientists, and environmental thinkers—such as Harriet Tubman, John Edmonstone, and John Francis—whose naturalist knowledge helped inspire movements toward liberation for all life.Throughout the season, students will compile their knowledge into personalized field guides, preserving these teachings and reflections to carry with them into their own communities. We’ll tap into the joys of Spring while unleashing our inner naturalists to creatively dream and make shared tools for uncovering the gifts of the world as it awakens.

Program Fee: $800. Sliding-scale and full scholarships are available for qualifying families. Payment plans are available to all. For families seeking a reduction in tuition cost please use the tuition assistance application. Email hello@kitesnest.org for any questions regarding registration. Apply here by March 11.
